Several years ago, I had emergency gall bladder surgery. I didn't know it at the time, but it set me on a path to acupressure that has changed my life. And, in the process, allowed me to help others improve theirs.
Following the surgery, I had chronic and debilitating fatigue for months. Doctor after doctor declared nothing was ‘wrong’ with me. Frustrated and in pain, I took the advice of a friend and went to an acupuncturist. I don't like needles but I was searching for relief so I gave it a try. It was at my third treatment that I felt some relief; the acupuncturist decided to press along my body before the needles were inserted. I hadn't felt that good in more than six months. Without a doubt, the ‘pressing on points’ before the needles were inserted made all the difference. I began regular acupressure sessions and had amazing results in a very short period of time. As a lifelong proponent of good nutrition and wellness I have always sought natural methods that encourage my body to heal from within. Therapeutic acupressure supports all levels of healthcare and overall wellness and perfectly complements Western medical treatments. Therapeutic acupressure helped bring normalcy to my daily life by increasing my energy level and allowing my body to heal. I found balance that I didn’t realize I lacked prior to having regular acupressure sessions. Today, I am a NJ licensed massage and body work practitioner with training from the American Institute of Alternative Medicine and additional training in neuromuscular therapy for the hips and lower back as well as positional release therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage and craniosacral therapy. I am also a certified advanced IGM® Therapeutic Acupressure practitioner (CPC, CPI). Prior to becoming a practitioner, I earned a Bachelor Degree in Communications and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. It is my passion to help others feel their best. We may not be able to cure a disease but healing is always possible. We can all heal ourselves and it brings me great joy to help facilitate healing in others. My clients are my gift; I am very fortunate to have learned these healing therapies and grateful to be able to share with others. |
